Swiss start-ups attract a record of 2,26 billion equity investment last year. This is an increase of 83% with respect to 2018. The majority of the venture capital flows into start-ups from the Greater Zurich Area. Investors are most interested in ICT and biotech start-ups.
ETH registers record number of spin-offs
Last year, a total of 30 new companies were founded at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. This is a new record for spin-offs. Most of these companies operate in the field of ICT.
