Robots to sort waste from rivers
Zurich – Students from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich are working on the development of new technologies for the automated removal of waste from rivers. In a pilot project on the Limmat river, a robot is now being deployed with the aim of sorting the collected refuse.

Zernez GR – The Swiss National Park has been chosen as one of the five reference areas where new digital technologies for environmental protection will be trialed. For this, the IUCN, the world’s largest environmental network, Huawei Switzerland, the Porini Foundation and the SNP have entered into a partnership.

Swiss flight simulator to be used in the USA
Dübendorf ZH - Colorado Highland Helicopters will use a flight simulator developed by VRM Switzerland to train pilots. This will be the first time the virtual reality-based development will be used in the USA.
Sulzer Schmid can grow with fresh capital
Oetwil am See ZH - Sulzer Schmid has concluded a series B funding round. The company from the Greater Zurich Area has developed a testing platform that drones can use to inspect wind turbines. Sulzer Schmid plans to use the new funds to expand its team.
Oxyle receives 3.2 million Swiss francs
Zurich – Since it was founded last year, Oxyle has received funding of 3.2 million francs from Switzerland and the EU. The startup has developed an innovative catalyst for cleaning contaminated wastewater using a green approach.
Deutsche Börse acquires Crypto Finance
Zug/Frankfurt – Deutsche Börse has acquired a two-thirds majority stake in the fintech Crypto Finance from the Greater Zurich Area. The remaining shares stay with existing investors, including the CEO and founder. The purchase price was reported to be in a moderate three-digit million Swiss franc range.

Frauenfeld/Schaffhausen - The cantons of Thurgau and Schaffhausen have jointly founded the decentralized Smart Technologies test station in collaboration with Agroscope. The aim here is to play a part in shaping the digital future of agriculture.
