ETH project seeks to make ultra-green concrete accessible worldwide
Zurich - The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) has developed an ultra-green, cost-effective concrete on the basis of low-carbon cement and a new concrete formula. This could help to cut emissions by up to 75 percent. Production of the cement is already taking place worldwide.

HeiQ, Mammut and Nespresso jointly launch outdoor jacket
Schlieren/Seon/Vevey - A trio of Swiss companies, namely HeiQ, Mammut and Nespresso, have joined forces to create a particularly lightweight insulating jacket known as the Extraordinary Jacket. The insulation developed by Mammut contains HeiQ technology using aluminum obtained from recycled Nespresso capsules.
SBB opens new cargo workshop in Chiasso
Chiasso/Bern - SBB, Swiss Federal Railways, has put its renovated cargo workshop in Chiasso into operation. The project took 18 months to complete, with the Swiss national railway company investing more than 12 million Swiss francs in the renovation. By expanding and modernizing the facility, SBB will be able to accelerate maintenance and servicing of locomotives and freight wagons.
