Zurich – Xorlab has raised 1.2 Swiss million francs in a financing round. The spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology develops cybersecurity solutions for companies.
ExoLabs wins EU funding and support
Zurich – ExoLabs is one of 15 winners of the EU’s Parsec Accelerators program. The start-up will receive funding and support services for its snow monitoring and forecasting system, which can help hydropower operators generate energy in a more profitable manner.

Zurich – With its software, Hegias allows real estate planners access to a virtual reality (VR) platform at the click of a button. Construction projects can therefore be shared by link at every planning phase, jointly inspected and modified even during times of social distancing.
Nimbatus wins Swiss Game Award
Zurich/Schaffhausen – The computer game Nimbatus produced by Stray Fawn Studios has been awarded the main prize at the seventh edition of the Swiss Game Awards. The Greater Zurich Area also claimed the special prize and the public prize as well.
Sunrise and Yapeal to partner up
Opfikon ZH/Zurich - Yapeal, the first fintech start-up to be awarded a license by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, is launching the first fully digital financial services app without the involvement of a Swiss third-party bank on Monday. In addition, Sunrise is starting an ad campaign at the same time. The two companies are planning additional joint business models.

The development of a chip for ultra-fast data transmission by researchers at ETH Zurich will allow streaming and online services to be transmitted quickly despite a sharp rise in demand. A speed of 100 gigabits per second has now been made possible.

Zurich – The newly founded drion.ai AG enables SMEs to access loans and financial guarantees more rapidly. As the first major customer, Helvetia Switzerland is using drion’s neural networks to fully automate its processes.

Zurich – A spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, incon.ai, has enhanced the process of bricklaying with augmented reality technology. The computer program developed by incon.ai allows bricks to be positioned with pinpoint accuracy. This enables unique structures with patterns and acoustic effects to be built.
Caru once more impresses investors
Zurich – AgeTech company Caru has secured 3 million Swiss francs from new and existing investors in a funding round. Now, Caru plans to also offer its digital flatmate for older adults to consumers directly and will be expanding into Germany.
