The event Zürich meets San Francisco will take place in San Francisco from October 20-26, featuring various academic, economic and cultural events. The aim is to position the Zurich region more strongly abroad as a centre of research, education and business, as well as a tourist destination, according to a statement from the Canton of Zurich.
The programme will include official meetings with the San Francisco municipal government and authorities, as well as networking opportunities in San Francisco for participating companies.
Zürich meets San Francisco is a joint project of the Canton of Zurich, the city of Zurich and Zurich Tourism, and is supported by the University of Zurich, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), and the city of Winterthur.
This is the fourth edition in a series of events dating back several years. In the past, the Zurich region has organized meetings with Hong Kong, London and New York.
