Ceva Logistics, IBM and Maersk are developing a new blockchain system known as TradeLens, with the aim of increasing transparency and predictability in a customer’s supply chain. One of its features will be tracking transactions without unveiling confidential information.
Working on TradeLens are 90 organizations worldwide – among them port and terminal operators, customs authorities and logistics services providers. The goal is to generate a new global standard for all parties.
“We see great potential in TradeLens, because it facilitates real-time supply chain access for all parties involved. It is an important step towards building a global market standard for blockchain solutions,” commented Xavier Urbain, CEO of Ceva Logistics.
With its partnership with IBM and Maersk, the international logistics company from Baar in the canton of Zug intends to exploit the untapped potential of blockchain in the logistics sector.
